Who We Are

The New Testament is the word of Christ. It reveals the religion of Christ (Hebrews 9:15 -17). By studying it we become aware that among the followers of Christ, no denominational organizations existed whatever. They lived godly lives. They cared for their poor. They taught others. They sent out preachers where they could not go. They were simply Christians.

What is important is that a group of such people may meet within minutes of where you live. We worship and serve God in the same way the early disciples did. Christ is their only creed and the scriptures their only guide. We are not members of any human denomination; we are simply a congregation, or church, of Christ. We would love to share Christ with you and with the entire world.

It’s Different When It’s People You Know

When I watched the devastation from the tsunami in Japan I was touched and felt for those suffering such devastation.  It was incredible.  But I have never been to Japan.  I did not know a single person affected by the tsunami.  It was just an event I saw on TV affecting people I did not know.

Last week was different.  Alabama is my birth state.  I have lived there a total of 23 years at 3 different times in 3 different cities.  I have held dozens of gospel meetings there and know people all over the state.  The killer tornadoes…
